17. Carolina Panthers - Jamari Johnson, TE, Oregon
The Carolina Panthers are a fun team and are getting some really nice returns from the offensive side of the ball this offseason. The one position that has plagued them for a while now is tight end, and finding a legitimate threat at the position could take this offense to the next level.
We've seen QB Bryce Young arguably play like an MVP candidate to begin the season, and seeing as it's easier to build a competitive defense in today's NFL, it would make more sense for Carolina to shore up that unit in free agency and focus on acquiring more long-term talent in the NFL Draft.
Jamari Johnson is simply the best tight end prospect in the class and would be someone that has a chance to develop into a high-end receiving weapon, and with NFL offenses usually deploying multiple tight ends, you really don't see a truly complete tight end that often anymore.
18. New England Patriots - Greg Johnson, OG, Minnesota
With stud guard Mike Onwenu out for the season and a free agent in 2027, the New England Patriots could target a future replacement along the offensive line. They have invested a good bit into this unit already, drafting players like Will Campbell, Jared Wilson, and Caleb Lomu. They've also signed Alijah Vera-Tucker.
Well, adding Greg Johnson in Round 1 could give the Patriots a complete and young offensive line. Protecting Drake Maye has to continue to be a huge point of emphasis, as Maye is currently enduring what would be his worst year as a pro by a mile.
I am still in belief that Maye is a franchise QB and will remain one for the Patriots for the long-term, but that doesn't mean the front office shouldn't look to fill a glaring hole when April rolls around.
