Arizona Cardinals (vs. Detroit Lions)
You know what, this could be the highest scoring game of the season so far. The Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions have both been able to rack up the point totals this year, but both teams are in different spots.
The Cardinals are in year one of the Mike LaFleur era and really don't look all that bad. The roster isn't necessarily oozing with talent, and quarterback Jacoby Brissett is a backup-caliber, but, all in all, this team is probably right where they should be.
The Lions, though, are dealing with what could be the worst defense in the sport, and the only way this team seems to be able to win games is by putting up 30+ points. In their two wins this year, they scored 31 points in each outing, and in the games they lost, they scored 31 and 26 points, but the defense gave up 41 and 32 points.
Given how prolific the Lions offense is, but how bad the defense is, this is bound to be another high-scoring game. Arizona has been able to generate some offense, but this is not a game the Cardinals will win. The Lions are approaching a time in the season where things really need to begin to get sorted out on defense.
The NFC North, and the NFC, for that matter, both appear to be wide open this year, and I don't see why the Lions can't begin their ascension, as the offense is plenty good enough, and all you would realistically need from the defense is maybe league average play.
With the Cardinals not exactly being a good team, the Lions come out victorious in this one and reach a 3-2 record, but, in typical Lions fashion, the defense will continue to struggle, and we're only predicting a one-point victory.
