New Orleans Saints (vs. Cleveland Browns)

Deshaun Watson is now in the concussion protocol, and his status for Sunday is firmly up in the air. If Watson can't go, Shedeur Sanders will get the nod, and even if Watson does play, we're confident in putting the New Orleans Saints in here as being a team guaranteed to win. The Saints are coming off the bye and are certainly not in the season they had hoped.

The Saints offense ranks 14th in points scored, which is respectable, but the defense ranks 29th in points allowed. After nearly getting out to a 2-0 start, the Saints pretty much erased all hope we had for them this year in the coming weeks, but the Cleveland Browns are a flawed team whether Watson or Sanders starts.

Watson has been fine this year, but he's taken far too many sacks and isn't exactly commanding a great offense. With Sanders being a backup, he'll naturally bring backup QB ability, so this could be a logical get-right game for the Saints defense, and they should be well-rested after the bye, too.

I would strongly expect a Saints win.

Houston Texans (@ Los Angeles Chargers)

Speaking of a 2-5 team coming off the bye, the Houston Texans face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9. The Chargers are the lone winless team in the NFL and sit at 0-7. The Texans, somehow, are 2-5, as the defense has totally regressed and looks like they forgot how to play football.

However, quarterback CJ Stroud has been outstanding this year, and we have genuinely seen the Texans dig out of messes before. Just last year, they were 0-3 to begin the season and were able to dig themselves out of that hole. While I am not sure this team is currently pacing to make the playoffs, I do believe they're a win or two better than the 2-5 record.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans is also a former player and does bring that inspirational 'rally the troops' mindset to the team, so I believe we're in for a very strong defensive performance against a beat up Chargers offensive line and a broken quarterback in Justin Herbert.
