Houston Texans (vs. Buffalo Bills)
During the 2025 season, the Buffalo Bills weren't able to take down the Houston Texans in Houston. Backup QB Davis Mills was actually in the game for the Texans, and Bills' QB Josh Allen tossed two interceptions.
Buffalo visited Houston in 2024. During that game, Allen went 9/30 for 131 yards. Yes, 9/30. Allen owns a 1-3 career record against the Texans with a 74 passer rating. He simply does not play good football against this team, and with the Texans bringing many of the same faces back on defense and perhaps even fielding an improved unit, it's hard to see how Buffalo wins this game.
The Bills also have a new head coach in Joe Brady, who is coaching in his first game at this position. Furthermore, defenses are typically ahead of offenses early in the season, as it historically takes a bit longer for offenses to find their groove. Defensive improvements aren't as tough to enact, so while Buffalo can again be great here, they'll fall into a quick 0-1 hole, as Houston's defense is a massive problem and should also need to shutdown one of James Cook or DJ Moore to find a path to victory.
Los Angeles Chargers (vs. Arizona Cardinals)
While the Los Angeles Chargers aren't anything special, playing the Arizona Cardinals could be a win for virtually everyone. The Chargers have gone 11-6 in each of the last two regular seasons, and the Cardinals could seriously be the first 0-17 team in NFL history. Los Angeles gets this game at home, and while they will have to keep in check the Cardinals' talened offensive play-makers, there are roster and coaching advantages all over the place for the Bolts here.
Denver Broncos (@ Kansas City Chiefs)
This may seem shocking, but as of now, it doesn't seem promising for Kansas City Chiefs' left tackle Josh Simmons to suit up for this game. The Chiefs may end up trotting out quite the underwhelming offensive line against the league's best pass-rush.
The Denver Broncos are also, simply, a much more talented team than the Chiefs are right now, and the Broncos are also riding a three-game winning streak against a team they once struggled to beat for years.
This could also be Patrick Mahomes' first game back from his major ACL injury, so there is reason to believe there that he's not going to be 'fully' himself. While this is almost guaranteed to be a close game, the Broncos are better, won eight more games than the Chiefs last year, and also were among the best teams in the league in one-score games.
