There truly aren't guarantees in the NFL, but there are certain matchups that most definitely till pan out how most of us expect. That is the case for a handful of matchups here in Week 3 of the 2026 season.
We're already soon wrapping up September football, and when we get into October, the race really begins. The first few weeks of the season can often be misleading based on how a given season ends. While the best and worst teams in the league are largely playing as expected, there are some teams that are either over or underachieving and will soon settle into their legitimate spot in the NFL hierarchy.
As we have done each week thus far, let's look at teams we believe are guaranteed to win in Week 3.
High-end offenses highlight four teams guaranteed to win in Week 3 of the 2026 season
Green Bay Packers (vs. Atlanta Falcons)
This is not necessarily saying that the Green Bay Packers are a great team. In fact, they might be average at best, but the Atlanta Falcons might truly be the worst team in the NFL right now. Thankfully, the Cooper Rush era is probably over, as Michael Penix Jr. is getting the start for the Falcons on Thursday Night Football against the Packers.
But I am not sure Penix gives the Falcons that much more of a chance to win. All of the Falcons QBs have largely been awful in their recent appearances on the field, and it really doesn't feel like anything has worked for the Falcons thus far.
While the Packers did need overtime to defeat the New York Jets and are now down Zach Bako-Bewele for the rest of the season, there is still plenty enough roster talent to get the job done. Jordan Love is a very good QB, and the Packers do have many competent players that should allow them to sniff nine-ish wins when the regular season is up.
Green Bay isn't particularly close to being a Super Bowl contender right now, but the Falcons also are about as bad of an NFL team as you'll see in the league right now. This shouldn't be a very exciting game either way, as both franchises are on the struggle bus for varying reasons.
In the end, though, the Packers are a solid tier above the Falcons in just about everything, so this game should pan out as most of us expect. The Packers win this one, and probably win it by double-digits.
