Philadelphia Eagles - Offense
The offense is the main thing with the Philadelphia Eagles as the regular season approaches. With the defense still in the hands of Vic Fangio and featuring many of the same key players, that unit simply isn't one that is going to vary all that much, which is a good thing. On the flip side, though, the offense is the unit to keep an eye on in 2026.
AJ Brown is no longer in the picture, and with QB Jalen Hurts' passing limitations, this could be the year where we really begin to see things go in the wrong direction. Sure, Hurts has been able to play reasonably well over the years, but not having his best pass-catching weapon for the first time in his developed career is a huge story.
Dallas Cowboys - Defense
The Dallas Cowboys are in an opposite situation, as the offense has been stable and will continue to be with Dak Prescott at QB, but the defense was the unit that saw major changes this offseason. The Dallas offense ranked in the top-10 in points scored per game, so all this defense will need to do is be average for this Cowboys team to reach the playoffs, which is very possible.
In fact, depending on how good the defense is, the Cowboys could win the NFC East this year.
Washington Commanders - Average
The offensive line is a different story, but the Washington Commanders are just an average football team right now. Sure, there are some decent parts of the roster, but when you put it all together, nothing aggressively sticks out, and that's going to end up being a problem when 2026 begins, especially if the injury bug hits this team as it did for much of the 2025 campaign.
New York Giants - Stability
The idea with hiring John Harbaugh is to bring some stability to a franchise that has needed it for years now. While the New York Giants likely won't win a Super Bowl anytime soon, getting some adults in the building and some stability is going to to wonders for the team's long-term view.
It could take a year and some change for this team to really get going, and while the Giants likely won't make the playoffs this year, we could begin to see Harbaugh's experience pay off, and perhaps see some young players begin to develop.
