2. San Francisco 49ers (6-1)
The San Francisco 49ers weren't going to win every game, and perhaps we should be talking about the Atlanta Falcons more. With how banged up the 49ers are across the board, this team was going to have a letdown soon.
Ideally, this team gets some key players back as the season goes on, but with how injured they have been most years of the Kyle Shanahan era, you almost wonder if this is the normal for them. Sitting at 6-1, the 49ers have a pretty comfortable lead in the NFC West right now and also have the No. 2 seed in the NFC.
They would currently host the Packers in the Wild Card Round if these standings held. Having made two Super Bowls in his head coaching career, Shanahan will have his team ready to roll if they do indeed make it into the playoffs, and it really seems like the 49ers make a deep playoff run each time they appear.
1. Minnesota Vikings (6-0)
I feel like we are all just collectively waiting for the Minnesota Vikings offense to come together, right? The defense is Super Bowl-caliber, and I'm not sure that is even up for discussion. The offense is still a work in progress with Kyler Murray, a competent quarterback. He's not great, but he's certainly far from bad.
Ideally, the Vikings hit their stride on this side of the ball late into the season and then into the playoffs. Think about it - the Vikings being undefeated now with a rather disappointing offense could give you perspective on how much better this team can be if Kevin O'Connell and Murray are able to get this unit on the right track.
This could be one of those years where the Vikings just don't lose much, and it'd be hard to bet against them in a home playoff game with this defense.
