2. Kenneth Walker III, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
So far, Kenneth Walker has been the best free agency signing of the offseason by any team. He leads the NFL in rushing yards, longest run, yards per carry, and yards per game.
He has 537 yards per game, which puts him on pace to run for 2,283 this year, which would be an all-time record. The all-time record is Erick Dickerson back in 1984 with 2,105 yards. Walker is on pace to totally blow that number out of the water.
He's averaging nearly 25 touches per game, which is a slight concern if you ask me. He's never had more than 255 in season but is currently on pace for 421 touches. There has to be a natural worry about how he can hold up if he keeps getting this workload, but for the time being, it's working.
Walker has supercharged the Kansas City Chiefs offense and has helped this team go 4-0 through the first month.
Until further notice, Walker is one of the most valuable players in the NFL and is deserving of being ranked this high/
1. Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers
Speaking of undefeated teams, Brock Purdy has to be looked at as the leading MVP candidate through four games. He has 11 touchdown passes, which leads the NFL, and he also leads the NFL in touchdown percentage, success rate, and longest pass.
Heck, he even leads in passer rating and QBR. The 4-0 San Francisco 49ers are a flat-out juggernaut, but they're also banged up pretty good right now, which makes Purdy's performance all the more impressive.
He owns a 34-15 career record and a 105.7 career passer rating. At this point, we have to stop talking about Purdy as being a good-not-great QB. He's great, perhaps elite, and is off to a wicked hot start this year. Purdy tops our power rankings.
