Baltimore Ravens (3-1) @ Atlanta Falcons (2-2)

Sunday, October 11, 8:20 PM ET

This matchup looks a lot more intriguing now than it would have just two weeks ago. That's all thanks to the recent surge by the Atlanta Falcons.

The Falcons have absolutely exploded offensively since Michael Penix Jr. returned to the lineup, scoring 35 points in a road win against the Green Bay Packers before putting up a whopping 45 points in a road win against the New Orleans Saints.

This is the Falcons' third primetime game in a row, and a couple of weeks ago, everyone was joking about how brutal that was going to be for general NFL fans after it looked like this team wasn't going to be able to play with anybody two games into the year. Cooper Rush and Jack Strand were an abject disaster at the QB position, but Penix has helped right the ship.

And Bijan Robinson is pretty good, too.

Lamar Jackson won't be available to the Ravens this week as he's dealing with an ankle injury he suffered during the team's win against the Tennessee Titans in Week 4.

Jackson's inability to stay healthy has been absolutely detrimental to the Ravens' operation in the past, but they have an experienced backup in Tyler Huntley, who has proven he can hold down the fort in the past.

Still, with the way the Falcons have played lately, and given they're going to be back in front of their home fans for the first time since this recent 80-point offensive explosion, do we really think the Ravens are going to be able to pull off an upset?

Even calling it a possible upset feels funny after the way things looked two weeks into the season, but here we are. That's the NFL.

The Falcons are 3.5-point favorites early on, and there's some understandable healthy skepticism about that team despite their offensive outburst lately. Still, with the way Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson are playing, it's going to be nearly impossible for the Ravens to go into Atlanta with a backup QB and get a win.

Prediction: Falcons win 31-20
