4. Tampa Bay Buccaners (vs. Green Bay)
Tampa Bay and Green Bay playing in Week 4 will be a game featuring two of the worst teams in the sport. The Buccaneers do get this game at home, if nothing else, but this is a game where the Packers should be able to get back on track, as QB Baker Mayfield is down with a dislocated thumb for Tampa Bay, so he'll likely miss a handful of games.
Jalon Daniels is in for the Buccaneers. He's a rookie and is going to make his first regular season start, and it might go as we expect. For years now, the Buccaneers have been a solid football team, but they have firmly been in that 'high floor, low ceiling' tier.
Last year, this team totally lost itself, struggled down the stretch and finished with an 8-9 record, losing out on the NFC South title to the Carolina Panthers. Tampa just does not do much of anything well, and with Mayfield not in, things are going to look and feel worse.
It also feels like it may only be a matter of time before head coach Todd Bowles is shown the door, as he's never really been anything special as a head coach and is probably underachieving a bit with the Buccaneers.
Tampa comes in at No. 4 in our power rankings but certainly would be higher if Mayfield was healthy. The Bucs signed Mayfield to an extension before the season, and while he has looked rough so far, he is still one of the more solid QBs in the league, so if nothing else, a future rebuild in Tampa could yield strong results, as Mayfield knows what he's doing.
But for now, it's going to be the Daniels' show, and the Bucs are likely bracing to look rather shaky in Week 4 and beyond.
