1. Houston Texans (vs. Dallas)
The Houston Texans have started 0-3 for the second season in a row. The team managed to go 12-2 following their 0-3 start last year and just missed out on the AFC South by one game. An 0-3 start clearly prevented Houston from winning the division last year, but this year, things don't feel as good.
While much of the roster is the same and a bounce back is possible, both sides of the ball have struggled, which is especially troubling given how excellent the defense is. The defense might be the big story of the season thus far.
In terms of top-end talent and depth, Houston's defense is a top-3 unit in the league, but they rank just 19th in points scored per game. On offense, it is a bit worse, as that unit ranks just 26th in points scored per game.
QB CJ Stroud hasn't been great, but the offensive line and the run game just aren't working. David Montgomery has averaged fewer than three yards per carry, and Nico Collins has only played one game heading into Week 4.
Why the Texans rank at the top of our winless team ranking is because this team did just go 12-5 last year and did sport, arguably, the best defense in the NFL that year. The roster is just oozing with talent all over the place despite the slow start, and it'd be hard to imagine how this team does not go on some sort of winning streak.
If you're a Texans fan, you want to believe that they can repeat what happened in 2025 this year, and with a very talented roster, respectable coaching staff, and competent, QB, Houston could get back on track here in the coming weeks. They come in at No. 1 in our 0-3 team power rankings.
