The quarterback position is one that is always debated in NFL circles, and that isn't ever going to stop. With the bulk of preseason rapidly approaching, the 2026 NFL Season is nearly here, and in today's NFL, no team is going to sustain any sort of success without a top-notch signal-caller.
Those players come in a ton of different play styles, but for the most part, you and I can tell when a QB is among the best in the league. While it's not much of a debate who the very best players are at the position, other debates centered around the position could be much more difficult to find agreement on.
And in our latest NFL power rankings exercise, we've decided to rank the most underrated QBs in the NFL. We're basing this on how it appears these players are perceived from the entire NFL landscape and offering up our argument as to why they are underrated.

5. Tua Tagovailoa, Atlanta Falcons
Of his six years in the NFL, Tua Tagovailoa owns a career winning record and has averaged a 10-7 season-long record since entering the NFL. From 2022-2024 with the Miami Dolphins, Tagovailoa went 25-16 as a starter and tossed 73 touchdowns against 29 interceptions for a stellar 102.5 passer rating, He also completed 69 percent of his passes during this stint.
While he's been dealing with injury concerns for much of his career, this isn't a slouch at the position, and with the Atlanta Falcons, Tagovailoa is primed to play with the best overall group of players on offense he's had.
A mini-breakout is one to watch out for in 2026.
4. Jaxson Dart, New York Giants
Despite the season being a bit dysfunctional for the New York Giants, Jaxson Dart did rack up 24 total touchdowns in 14 games. He had three times as many touchdown passes as interceptions and finished with a solid 91.7 passer rating. He also completed 63.7 percent of his passes, which is solid for a rookie as well.
While the Giants still have to shed this dysfunctional label, and their offseason thus far has been a bit dramatic, Dart was a productive QB in this league last year, and given the overall situation, his production is all that more impressive.
Dart also does have a legitimate dual-threat profile. He added nine rushing touchdowns last year and could continue to be a threat with his legs. His breakout in year two is coming.
