4. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes just has not been that efficient on paper for the Kansas City Chiefs these past few seasons. But, like Nix's situation, Mahomes' is kind of similar, as the Chiefs just have not had a solid, efficient run, game, and the pass-catchers have not been good enough.
The Chiefs did seem to check off one of those boxes this offseason when they signed Kenneth Walker III in free agency, but the pass-catching group is largely the same as it was last year, which is a problem.
Mahomes is also coming off a major injury, and part of me wonders if we'll see him living in the pocket more as a result. With that said, he's still among the best players in the NFL, but this could be another year where he's not 'wowing' us in the stat sheet.
There needs to be another roster transition from the front office to actually surround Mahomes with the proper personnel.
3. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson is a two-time MVP and is the best dual-threat QB of all-time. Of course, with his play style, he is more vulnerable to taking those big hits and missing games, which has been the case much of his career.
But as recently as 2024, Jackson played at an MVP level, and with the team still having Derrick Henry in the backfield and solid receivers, nothing is stopping Jackson from returning to his dominance. He can also be the most dynamic player in the NFL in any given week, so his bounce back in 2026 could honestly be likely.
There really isn't a player like Jackson in the NFL. He's already first all-time in QB rushing yards and could still have another 3-5 years of 'prime' football.
