8. Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
Is Matthew Stafford regressing a bit this year? Through four games, the Los Angeles Rams are just 2-2, and Stafford already has six interceptions.
He has completed just 61.1 percent of his passes, but he does average 297.3 yards per game this year. We could be seeing a regression from his MVP play in 2025, and it would make sense, as Stafford is straight-up old and might be getting close to Father Time.
The Rams being 2-2 is also a bit of a shock, but they are dealing with a good bit of injuries right now. If you want to be optimistic here, you could say that the health of the Rams improving in the coming weeks could help Stafford's production, but he does look significantly worse this year than he did last year.
He's No. 8 in our power rankings, as he does still have the arm talent to make throws that other QBs simply can't make, and he has been able to accumulate a ton of yardage, which is good for something, right?
7. Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
Sam Darnold has been solid for the Seattle Seahawks this year. He did miss a little bit of time with a lower-body injury, but he hasn't missed a beat since returning.
Darnold has 560 passing yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions in three total games this year. He does only have a 37.4 QBR, which is a bit interesting, considering his passer rating is a 101.1.
The 3-1 Seahawks are in a good spot, and Darnold is, at least my eyes, a not-hard QB to evaluate. He's far from an elite player at the position, but he also seems to have a very high floor and is perfectly capable of running most NFL offenses.
He was plenty good enough last year for Seattle to win the Super Bowl, but he's likely never going to be looked at as an elite player, but more as someone who is along for the ride, but reliable.
