6. Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
It has not been an easy season for Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers this year. Love has completd just 56.5 percent of his passes this year, but he does have 1,041 yards, eight touchdowns, and just three interceptions.
The lower completion percentage does make his passer rating of 86.5 lower than you might think, but that's only a passer rating, which isn't always a statistic that people love to use for QB evaluation.
With all the injuriers that the Packers have gone through this year, Love and the entire team have regressed. It's not his fault, and he is producing despite the dysfunction around him. Physically speaking, Love is as skilled as any QB in the NFC, so we know it'll never be a talent issue.
If the Packers simply weren't dealing with a ton of injuries, they'd likely be 3-1 and in a much better spot in the NFC. Love has oddly won nine games in all three years of his starting career, and based on how the first month of the season has gone for the team, nine wins might actually be unrealistic.
5. Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints
Tyler Shough is awesome. He has nine touchdown passes through three games and is one of just three NFC QBs with at least 1,200 passing yards through the first month of the season.
He owns a 62.3 QBR and a 95.7 passer rating and is clearly progressing from his rookie season. Much of the reason why the New Orleans Saints are just 1-3 is not Shough. The defense definitely let everyone down in Week 4.
But if the Saints again miss the playoffs and Shough does play well, that is a lot better than the alternative of Shough not progressing and the defense, for example, playing lights-out. Front offices can fix a defense a lot easier than an offense, so Shough's performance this year has to give the decision-makers a level of comfort.
He's top-5 in our power rankings.
