4. Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
I have been an outspoken doubter of Bryce Young, but through the first month of the season, he has made me look very, very wrong. Young's 62.3 completion percentage isn't great, but he does have 1,268 passing yards, which leads the NFC, and he also has nine touchdowns against just two interceptions.
His 74.5 QBR is great, and his 100 passer rating would stand to be the best mark of his career if he can sustain it. Young has produced nicely against some bad defenses this year, but if we played that game with every other QB in the NFL, we'd never get anywhere.
If Young is actually a very good QB this year, it would go to show you just how important it is to be patient with young QBs, as this is already his fourth year in the NFL, and he's just now hitting his stride. Young made some strides in year three, but was still largely mediocre.
Getting the right coaching in place has proven to be the key, as Young does have the ability to throw the ball across all levels of the field, and he's simply having himself a great season thus far.
3. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott is an efficient QB every year, so what he's done this year is really nothing he has not done before. Prescott has completed 70 percent of his passes for 1,065 yards, eight touchdowns, one interception, and a 105 passer rating.
The Dallas Cowboys are 2-2, but with another bad defense this year, things could fall even more on the shoulders of Prescott, but the one thing this franchise cannot do is waste another prime year from Prescott with a shaky defense.
We all know at this point that he can produce at a high level, so this ranking should not be a shock, but it simply is going to come down to the defense holding their own.
