The NFC East wasn't exactly the best division in the sport last year, but the 2026 NFL Season could honestly bring something a lot different. When you take a look at all four teams, it's pretty clear that all of them have some sort of argument as a relatively strong club this year.
With the NFL being rich in parity, though, it's going to be hard for some of the teams stuck in the middle to break through, but you really just never know. The regular season is now just days away, so the anticipation for the coming season is getting heavier and heavier.
For the last time of the 2026 offseason, let's power-rank the NFC East, featuring a surprise team at the top.
Final NFC East power rankings before the 2026 NFL Season
4. New York Giants
The New York Giants take the last spot in our power rankings. While the Giants do have some things going for them, this franchise has been the epitome of dysfunction for years, and even with John Harbaugh now in the picture, it seems like that dysfunction is still present.
But where Giants' fans can be optimistic is with Jaxson Dart, as he racked up 24 total touchdowns in just 14 games as a rookie and did seem to have that 'gamer' quality that so many other top quarterbacks have.
Dart is absolutely going to have to polish things up in 2026, specifically in terms of keeping himself out of harm's way, but that could also simply come with experience.
As of now, though, the Giants have proven themselves to be the worst team in the division, and until we see how 2026 looks, it should remain that way.
3. Washington Commanders
After a wicked 12-win season back in the 2024 campaign, the Washington Commanders did a total 180 and won just five games this past season, which was a year filled with major injuries, including to QB Jayden Daniels, who played in just seven games.
It's pretty hard to trust this team now with how 2025 went, as the roster is still just OK, and the major offensive line concerns this team has could be a massive issue this year.
Overall, even with this team being just one year removed from getting to the conference title game, it's a struggle to see how they can get back into the postseason given what went wrong in 2025, and how some of those issues are still present right now.
