2. Philadelphia Eagles
Before you all come at me for ranking the Philadelphia Eagles No. 2 in the NFC East, hear me out. In 2025, the Eagles took a major step back on offense, and while a lot of that was due to injuries, especially along the offensive line, and Kevin Patullo's overall incompetence, there still is a major issue at the QB position.
Yes, Jalen Hurts wins, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have some concerns with his game. Hurts has simply never been a QB that threatens a ton with his arm. He struggles to remain in the pocket and play on time and just isn't going to drop back 35 times a game.
And now, for 2026 and beyond, his best pass-catching weapon is gone. Even with AJ Brown in the picture these past four seasons, Philly's struggles on offense were still present at times, and with the wide receiver room now missing his dominant presence, the offense's ceiling is now capped.
Sure, the defense is going to be quite good, as Vic Fangio is still in the picture, but I am not sure we saw just how bad things can truly get on offense in 2025. The 2026 season could bring an entirely new bout of struggles, which could be the one thing that regresses this team even more.
1. Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys already had a top-10 offense from the prior season. Thanks to sporting the worst defense in the league last year, though, the Cowboys won just seven games, but 2026 could be a lot different, as this team made sweeping, significant changes on that side of the ball, which notably included bringing in Christian Parker to run the unit.
And with a revamped defense personnel-wise, there is a legitimate shot that this group can at least average in 2026, which should be the goal. An average defense coupled with a top-10 scoring offense does yield some nice results, and with Philly having their own concerns on offense, things could even-out a bit more in the NFC East.
But given that the Cowboys have the better offense overall and went out and got aggressive to fix the defense, I feel comfortable putting them at the top spot. There was a short time in 2025 where the Cowboys were actually getting close to the Eagles in the NFC East, so it's not like Dallas was significantly out of reach.
Expect the Cowboys to emerge as the best team in the division this year.
