2. Seattle Seahawks
It's hard to imagine that the Seattle Seahawks would be ranked No. 2 in the NFC West, but that's how it feels right now. Seattle did just win the Super Bowl, but they also fell behind the Los Angeles Rams in terms of overall talent.
The Seahawks did take care of key extensions this offseason but also lost some notable talent with guys like Kenneth Walker, Boye Mafe, Riq Woolen, and Coby Bryant. Repeating as Super Bowl champions is difficult for this reason, as teams typically lose players to high-dollar contracts in the offseason and simply don't have quite as much talent as the year prior.
And when the Seahawks share a division with the most talented team in football that just added two future Hall of Famers to the defense, it clearly drops them down a slot. With that said, Seattle will still likely win at least 11 games this year and should be looked at as a juggernaut, but it's not ridiculous to say that this team is also primed to take a small step back and fall behind Los Angeles, who is unsurprisingly top in our rankings.
1. Los Angeles Rams
The Rams really have it all. Not only did they already have the league's best scoring offense from the 2025 season, but adding Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson to the secondary was plenty enough to fix that defense, but that clearly was not enough for Les Snead, the most aggressive General Manager in the NFL.
Snead also added Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald to the defensive line, giving the Rams, unquestionably, the most talented group in the NFL ahead of a very clear 'Super Bowl or bust' season. One important thing to note here, though, is that Matthew Stafford is rapidly approaching 40 years old and may not have more than a year or two of high-end play left.
It's important to mention this, as we have seen players decline quite quickly when they get this old. Stafford did just win the MVP award last year, so even a slight regression could still have him playing top-10 football at the position.
As the regular season begins, the Rams will continue to be looked at as the favorite in the NFL to win it all, but that also does increase the pressure big-time for this team to perform, as there isn't a clear weakness on the roster.
