6. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2)
The Jacksonville Jaguars are now 4-2 on the season following a pretty heartbreaking loss to the Texans in Week 6. It’s not every day you see a team playing two games in a row in London, but the NFL wants it whether we like it or not.
Honestly, I don’t think this game tells us anything notable about this team. Divisional games are always much tougher than non-divisional opponents, and while the Texans did come into this game just 1-4, they’re clearly a lot better than their record indicates.
The important thing here is for the Jaguars to take care of business against the Texans when they meet again, and it’s also key that this team simply continues to play winning football, which they have done for quite a while now.
You should still look at the Jaguars as being the favorite in the AFC South, but it felt like this game could have quite easily gone the other way. Jacksonville is still a borderline juggernaut, or flat-out juggernaut depending on who you ask.
5. Denver Broncos (4-2)
It really is hard to figure out the Denver Broncos. Despite having one of the more uglier offenses in the NFL, the Broncos have managed to win four of their first six games, which just so happened to be the toughest schedule in the NFL to begin the season.
The Broncos winning like this with a tough schedule and an ugly offense could have them playing flat-out elite football in the coming weeks if the offense does get itself figured out, and there is reason to believe that it will, as we have seen QB Bo Nix play his tail off before, and with the Broncos also having played a gauntlet of opposing defenses, there is simply a realistic chance that the offense picks things up as the season goes on.
Denver is now 4-2 for the second year in a row, and they do have one of the more impressive resumes of any team to begin the season. The main key here is going to be the performance of Nix and the offense.
If not for a broken ankle, the Broncos likely played in the Super Bowl last year, and a large reason why the team got within a game of the big one was Nix. Denver is a very good team that should get the offense figured out.
