4. Minnesota Vikings (5-0)
One of three remaining unbeaten teams in the NFL, the 5-0 Minnesota Vikings are worth talking about. The team’s defense has really carried the load thus far, but the offense is beginning to figure things out.
It is probably only a matter of time before the offense gets more comfortable with Kyler Murray as the starting QB, as Murray is absolutely capable and someone who can really be a threat with his arm and his legs.
The Vikings being able to see this offense work itself out in the coming weeks could have this team as a true juggernaut in this league. I believe they’re probably right on the cusp of that as we speak.
Minnesota has seen a ton of QBs start games for them, and we also saw them say goodbye to McCarthy earlier this season. This is Murray’s team, and if he continues to get more comfortable in the offense and simply plays well, there is no chance the Vikings let him out of th building.
3. Buffalo Bills (5-1)
The Buffalo Bills are now 5-1 on the season after a huge win over the Raiders in Week 6. The Bills won by three points, and the 33-30 final was, funnily enough, their final score in last year’s AFC Divisional Round loss to the Broncos.
Anyway, Josh Allen was great through the air, adding 255 yards and two touchdowns for the offense. James Cook had 95 yards and one touchdown, and Keon Coleman added 59 yards and a score as well.
The main thing we keep coming back to and keep having to talk about is how bad this defense has been. This defense is really bad, folks. The Bills simply cannot keep needing to win in shootouts, as while the offense can certainly put up a ton of points with Allen leading the way, Allen is also a QB who makes boneheaded mistakes from time to time.
And we’re bound to get to a point where the dam just bursts open, and Allen can’t keep needing to play like this most weeks. Until the Bills figure out this defense, we’ll keep having this valid concern about the team in year one of the Joe Brady era.
