26. New York Jets (2-4)

I guess the bright side with the New York Jets is that they’re not necessarily a horrendous football team, but they’re certainly not a good team. The Jets did find themselves in a 3-17 hole at halftime and at least outscored New England by a touchdown in the second half, but ‘almost’ winning doesn’t get you anywhere in the NFL.

Geno Smith had 252 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception in this one, but rookie wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. shined a bit with 103 yards and a touchdown. As we have said for a while now, the Jets do have some nice young talent on the roster, but it doesn’t seem to be a lock that this current coaching staff will be the one that further oversees this team, perhaps snagging a rookie QB in the 2027 NFL Draft.

If nothing else, the Jets are playing with a bit more fight than they did last year. I guess that is good for something. New York will very likely continue being ranked quite low in our weekly power rankings.

25. Philadelphia Eagles (2-4)

This feels like the beginning of the end for the Philadelphia Eagles, or at least this current era of Eagles football. We know that Jalen Hurts is now on IR due to his blood clots situation, and it’s simply something that we all hope he is able to return from at some point.

It’s a scary situation overall. Philly started Tanner McKee in Week 6. McKee went 26/45 for 215 yards and one touchdown, so nothing special came from McKee. DeVonta Smith had 75 yards and one touchdown. The Eagles did lose this game by double digits at home, and it’s really something to see all that has gone wrong with this franchise this year.

Honestly, and this is just me talking, I don’t see why this team shouldn’t be major sellers at the trade deadline. Absolutely nothing good is going to come from this year, so why delay the obvious? General Manager Howie Roseman is among the most aggressive in the league, so perhaps this is something he does end up doing in the coming weeks.

The Eagles aren’t going to be able to dig themselves out of this in 2026.
