10. Los Angeles Chargers (11-6 in 2025)
Stop me if you've heard this before, but the Los Angeles Chargers have offensive line concerns. Not only has Rashawn Slater not been consistenly practicing lately, but center Tyler Biadasz, their big ticket free agent along the interior, is now out for the year.
And the guard spots are as bad as any in the league. It's quite something that the front office, knowing that this has been an issue, still didn't get aggressive enough to fix it this offseason. Sure, the injury to Biadasz was not expected, but that now puts a lot more pressure on the guards, who aren't good to begin with, and there isn't a guarantee that Slater is able to stay healthy at this point.
The Chargers also don't have a spectacular roster. There are some nice players here and there, but without enough top-end talent, the Bolts will continue to hover around 10-11 wins most seasons. Not only that, but they've been embarrassed in the Wild Card Round in each year of the Jim Harbaugh era, and with no clear roster progression this offseason, it's hard to view the Chargers as a legitimate juggernaut.
Yes, they're a good team, but that's really it. Good and nothing more.
9. San Francisco 49ers (12-5 in 2025)
The San Francisco 49ers just cannot stay healthy, and it's really a shame. The 49ers did manage to win 12 games last year despite going through a ton of injuries, and unless the health takes a turn for the better, it's going to be more of the same in 2026.
With that said, the 49ers did make it to the Super Bowl in 2023 and also made it into the Divisional Round this past season. Kyle Shanahan's group tends to elevate their play when the postseason rolls around, which is an outstanding quality to have, but with the injuries seemingly never going away, and the drafting not being good enough, the 49ers are still relying on their top-end players to carry the load.
But with many of those players getting up there in age, this bubble is going to burst at some point in the near future. With that being said, there are a ton of franchises in the NFL that would trade places with the 49ers, but this is a team that is absolutely on the outside of the Super Bowl bubble this year.
