2. Denver Broncos (14-3 in 2025)
The Broncos got within one game of the Super Bowl last year and likely would have made it had Bo Nix not shockingly broken his ankle in the team's Divisional Round victory over the Bills. While some think the Broncos are primed for regression this year, the team got better in the offseason.
Sure, you can cite the defensive losses of John Franklin-Myers and Dre Greenlaw, but Greenlaw struggled with injuries, and Franklin-Myers was only a part-time player. Jaylen Waddle's addition into the room is absolutely more impactful than losing two part-time defensive players.
And I do wonder if the Broncos would be looked at differently this offseason had Nix stayed healthy and the team made the Super Bowl, even if they would have lost. It's really quite the challenge to find much of anything wrong with this roster.
What is also notable is that this is the first year of the Nix era where the Broncos don't have Russell Wilson's dead cap on their books, so in a way, this is the first 'all in year,' if you will. The Broncos come in at No. 2 in our power rankings and simply check all the boxes.
That isn't going to guarantee anything in 2026, but there may truly be only one roster in a better spot than where Denver's is right now, and unsurprisingly, that team does take the top spot in our power rankings
1. Los Angeles Rams (12-5 in 2025)
The Los Angeles Rams are the best team in the NFL. Adding Myles Garrett, Trent McDuffie, and Jaylen Watson in the offseason, the Rams got serious about ensuring the defense doesn't become an issue, as it was an issue down the stretch in 2025.
And the Rams already have the top-ranked scoring offense from a season ago, so this is absolutely the most complete team in football right now. This does come with lofty expectations, so while the Rams should be viewed as the favorite to win it all, it does amp up the pressure inside the building to actually get it done.
We have seen a similarly built team win it all, though. The 2021 Rams, perhaps the closest thing we have to a superteam in the NFL, won the Super Bowl. The 2026 Rams have some All-Pro players and are flirting with that superteam status.
To be frank, anything less than a Super Bowl title would be a legitimate failure for this franchise, but it also goes to show you just how excellent this team is right now.
