16. Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
Although he was limited to just 9 games last season due to injury, Brock Purdy still put up some impresive overall numbers. He was on pace for a 40-touchdown season with 20 TD passes in those 9 games, and you can tell that he's really starting to hit a stride with the game slowing down for him.
Purdy is one of the most underrated "point guards" at the quarterback position in the NFL today. There's not a throw he can't make, he's got really good poise in the pocket, and he's a lot more athletic than people realize. He has 8 rushing touchdowns over the last two seasons combined, and his legs can be a weapon.
If he can stay healthy, he's likely going to vault up this list rather quickly.
15. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
If this were a list of the most physically gifted quarterbacks in the NFL, Justin Herbert would be in the top 5. If this were a list of the strongest arms in the NFL, Justin Herbert would be in the top 5. Not only is Herbert one of the best QBs in the NFL when it comes to pure arm talent, but he's also exceptional as a scrambler.
Herbert is undeniably talented and physically gifted, but he's got to start showing up when it matters. And there are plenty of factors out of his control that have contributed to the Chargers' lack of success in the postseason, but a lot of that is on Herbert as well.
He's capable of making otherworldly throws fery few other quarterbacks in the NFL can dream of making, but we have yet to see Herbert rise to the occasion in the most critical moments. And that matters. It feels like Herbert has one of the best reputations of any quarterback in the NFL, and as soon as he does something like win a division or a playoff game, it will absolutely be warranted.
14. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
There might not be a more polarizing quarterback in the NFL right now than Jalen Hurts.
On one side of the coin, you can't deny the playoff success of Hurts at this point, and the ways he's helped the Eagles win a Super Bowl and make it to two. This is a player who, just two seasons ago, was the Super Bowl MVP.
The NFL is a lot about, "What have you done for me lately?" but you also can't just ignore what a guy did two seasons ago. Hurts had a down year in 2025, there's no question about it. But this is a player with 173 career touchdowns (110 passing, 63 rushing) who has been the leader of some of the best offenses in the league.
He deserves a ton of respect, while his play last season warrants plenty of criticism as well. The Eagles' offense was tough to watch at times, and Hurts played his part in that. He needs to bounce back in 2026 for new OC Sean Mannion.
13. Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears fans are walking on cloud nine this offseason, it's because of this guy right here. Although the late, great Val Kilmer is the true "Iceman", Caleb Williams's breakout season in 2025 included some extremely clutch moments, and it felt more like an arrival than a blip on the radar.
Williams has such a fun blend of skills at the position with his ability to make the most ridiculous throws look easy. He's very Mahomes-like in that regard. The biggest areas he needed to improve after his rookie season were cutting down on the turnover-worthy plays and taking fewer sacks. He did exactly that.
You can almost feel watching Williams the confidence it seems Ben Johnson unlocked in him. The guy we saw last season was the guy we saw in his incredible Heisman year at USC.
