7. Atlanta Falcons receiving touchdowns by a running back
The first of the Atlanta Falcons’ running back receiving records that could be broken this season is officially on the clock in the second week of the season. Bijan Robinson is two touchdown catches away from passing Devonta Freeman and setting the career record in Atlanta, just three years into his career. This week is a divisional showdown with the Carolina Panthers, who gave up four touchdowns to running backs last week; even though those were all on the ground, the possibility for Robinson to beat up the Carolina defense even more is there, and he could have the record all to himself.
6. Dallas Cowboys touchdown passes record
The Dallas Cowboys were bullied in Week 1 of the NFL season by the New York Giants. The Cowboys look like a team that is ready to unleash its frustrations on a different division rival this week, the Washington Commanders. Last week, the Commanders allowed three passing touchdowns to the Philadelphia Eagles.
With that in mind, the Cowboys quarterback, Dak Prescott, needs four touchdown passes to move to the top of the franchise leaderboard in that statistic, passing the guy he took the starting job from as a rookie, Tony Romo. With the Cowboys coming in wanting to release some steam from how they played on Sunday mixed with how the Commanders’ passing defense looked last week, the record is obtainable starting this week.
5. Matthew Stafford moves up in the top 10 touchdown passes list of all-time
To the world's surprise, the Los Angeles Rams did essentially nothing in Melbourne, Australia last week. The team looked bad, and the offense had opportunities, but could not capitalize. They will come in with a fire, much like Dallas will, this week against the Giants on Monday Night Football.
With a great primetime performance this week, quarterback Matthew Stafford could move up the all-time passing touchdowns list. With three passing scores, Stafford would pass Philip Rivers on the list. By doing that, the veteran quarterback would sit alone at the sixth spot with 426 career passing touchdowns.
