A whopping 12 NFL franchises have never won a Super Bowl before, and four teams have never appeared in the Super Bowl, either. With over one-third of the league not having won a Lombardi Trophy, that number does have to dwindle at some point, right?
Well, most of the very best teams in the NFL all do have Super Bowl titles, so it might be tough for a non-Super Bowl winning franchise to shed that label in the 2026 NFL Season. With preseason ramping up across the league in the coming days, we're getting closer to the start of the season, which will also get us closer to the Super Bowl in February of 2027.

6. Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers do have an outside shot at the Super Bowl this year, but in each year of the Jim Harbaugh era, this team has gone 11-6 and gotten blown out in the first round of the postseason. Quarterback Justin Herbert now owns an 0-3 record in the playoffs with three horrendous performances.
And while the Chargers did hire Mike McDaniel as the offensive coordinator this offseason, they also lost Jesse Minter as the defensive coordinator, so while the McDaniel hired gets hyped up, I really do not see many talking about how big of a loss Minter is going to be. Sure, the Chargers feel like a guaranteed double-digit win team, but making a Super Bowl run would take some luck thrown their way.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars
I would put the Jacksonville Jaguars in the same tier as the Chargers - both teams are good, but just outside of the Super Bowl bubble. The Jaguars lost Devin Lloyd and Travis Etienne in free agency this past offseason, and their roster wasn't that special to begin with.
The Jags did find something with head coach Liam Coen, but given that this operation is only in year two, it's going to take another offseason to truly get going, but this team did win 13 games last year and could win it all if things fall their way and if Trevor Lawrence plays at an MVP level.
