We've seen some unexpected things happen thus far in the 2026 NFL Season. Unfortunately, it seems like there are more injuries than usual that are piling up. If that doesn't change, there could be some teams that end up faltering and are unable to rebound due to the sheer number of injuries they're dealing with.
It's a brutal, unforgiving sport sometimes. With that being said, there are some teams that have really played well thus far and have shattered expectations. While it's still early, and there is time for everyone to somehow mess up, let's take a more positive approach to things here and look at the teams that have impressed us the most.

6. New York Jets, 1-2
The New York Jets have lost two games in a row, but the Green Bay Packers needed overtime to defeat them, and the Detroit Lions kept the Jets in the game. New York does feel like a competent team right now. While the 1-2 record is not ideal, the Jets aren't far off from being 2-1.
I understand that almost winning still counts as losing, but adding that necessary context is key. While the Jets aren't going to make the playoffs this year, they are clearly good enough to hang around in most games and could even play spoiler from time to time.

5. Arizona Cardinals, 1-2
Another 1-2 team in a similar spot, the Arizona Cardinals come in at No. 5 in our power rankings. The Cardinals upset the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1 and did give the San Francisco 49ers a ton of push in Week 3.
The Cardinals aren't fielding a winning team at the moment and don't have a long-term quarterback answer, but they're showing fight under first-year head coach Mike LaFleur and appear to be a really fun team on offense.
I am not sure the current front office is going to be able to survive long enough to see this rebuild fully take shape, but Arizona doesn't appear to be nearly as bad as some thought they would be coming into the season.
