5. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence played quite well down the stretch, ending the 2025 season as an MVP candidate, which was quite impressive. Lawrence hasn't been able to sustain a high level of play throughout an entire season, but the final month and a half of the 2025 campaign was outstanding football, and it does thrust him into the top-5.
4. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Statistically speaking, Patrick Mahomes hasn't jumped off the page the past few seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs, but this is still Mahomes we're talking about. While the Chiefs won just six games in 2025, we can't completely discount how dominant Mahomes has been throughout most of his career. I do believe his ranking among AFC starters can take a small hit like this, though, as the raw production just hasn't been there, especially throwing the ball down the field.
3. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens were rather banged up last year, but Jackson is just one year removed from that 2024 season where he should have won the MVP, and he's among the most talented players to ever play at the position. Jackson has dealt with injuries for much of his career, and it is the one thing that does always remain a consant given his style of play, but in any given week, he can be the most electric player in the sport.
2. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
Arguably the best processer in the NFL, Joe Burrow is No. 2 in our rankings, but, like Jackson, has struggled to stay on the field consistently. Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals haven't been in the playoffs since 2022, which is a problem, but Burrow does have a Super Bowl appearance under his belt and is truly the closest thing we have to Tom Brady at this point in NFL history.
1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen is the best and most complete QB in the AFC right now. While the playoff heartbreaks are getting outageous, Allen's talent is something that no one can dispute. He's an elite, all-time great QB runner, and his arm talent is second-to-none. There are valid criticisms with his game, as he does typically have a handful of dreadful performances each year, but he's also largely one of the more dynamic players in the league and continues to play at a high level.
