10. New York Jets (2-3)

The New York Jets are winners in Week 5, having beaten the Browns in ugly fashion. The Jets, though, just don't do a whole lot well, and I am not sure this team doesn't still make some major changes at the end of the season.

Second-year head coach Aaron Glenn still feels like someone who might not be cut out to be a head coach, and QB Geno Smith isn't going to take this team anywhere. But, like the Browns, the Jets do have some young talent that General Manager Darren Mougey can keep building around.

And with a trio of first-round picks in the 2027 NFL Draft, I'd be shocked if the Jets didn't make a major move for a QB next April. For now, though, this is a low-floor, medium-ceiling team. They have enough talent to be frisky here and there, but also aren't good enough as a whole to sustain winning this year.

9. Las Vegas Raiders (3-2)

The Las Vegas Raiders have come back down the earth a bit after a 3-0 start. They lost a close game to Kansas City in Week 4 and then lost in blowout fashion to New England in Week 5. Those first three weeks might have been a bit of an outlier, but the Raiders are still exceeding expectations thus far.

The team isn't oozing with talent on offense, and I am not sure Kirk Cousins is anything more than a mid-tier starter, but heck, they're 3-2 for a reason.

Hiring Klint Kubiak seemed to have been the right move, and with Fernando Mendoza in the building, beyond 2026 should have Raiders fans feeling very happy. The Raiders probably won't be able to cut through the rest of the conference to make the playoffs, but an 8-9 or 9-8 finish feels well within range.
