8. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Baker Mayfield is a good, not great quarterback, and he lands at No. 8 in our power rankings. After a wildly prolific 2024 season, Mayfield and the Tampa Bay offense regressed, but on paper, there was still some degree of efficiency. While the Buccaneers aren't ever going to win a Super Bowl with Mayfield, he does have some nice arm talent and also plays with an edge that other QBs simply do not have, and I would guess that edge endears him to his teammates.
Mayfield is someone you want on your side, but he's not a high-end player at the position.
7. Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
Brock Purdy has struggled to stay on the field at times, and he's not an overwhelmingly talented QB, but he is a winner, and while wins are not a QB stat in the eyes of many, winning does follow some of the league's best QBs.
With that said, Purdy doesn't really strike you as one of the best in the league. He's consistently a top 15 player at the position and does have some top-10 moments, as he's started in the Super Bowl before, but there are some physical limitations with Purdy.
He'll still be a starter in this league for years to come, though.
6. Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
Sam Darnold actually struggled with turnovers last year and does seem to be a QB that is along for the ride more than being the one driving the car. With that said, Darnold has now won 28 regular season games over the past two seasons, which doesn't feel like a real stat. He also did just win the Super Bowl.
I do believe Darnold can skyrocket well inside the top-5 in 2026 if we see the turnovers lessen and perhaps see another step forward as a passer with Seattle.
5. Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
Jordan Love has all the tools and traits you want at the position. He's been a rock-solid starter for the Packers for the last three years and does have many instances of showing off his elite tier, but that hasn't been present for an entire season, and until we do see that emerge, this is as high as Love is going to get.
