5. Chicago Bears (3-2)
The Chicago Bears felt like the most fun team in the NFL in those two games that they were able to win with Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum. Then, in Week 5, reality hit. They got blown out by Green Bay and are now firmly in that 'please come back soon, Caleb Williams' mode.
Starting a backup QB is never ideal in the NFL unless a team is resting starters for the playoffs, so while they do deserve a ton of credit for being able to hold the fort down in Williams' absence, the Bears aren't going to go anywhere unless he's healthy, and it seems like he is nearing a return.
And we are ranking the Bears based on Williams returning to the lineup soon. The pass rush might still be a concern, and the defense as a whole is still far from ideal, but Chicago is still a very good team and did make a somewhat deep playoff run last year.
The Bears are here to stay and going be sparked big-time by Williams' return.
4. Detroit Lions (3-2)
The Detroit Lions take the No. 5 spot in our power rankings. Led by an electric offense, the Lions are putting up points with ease. The defense is downright abysmal, but a 3-2 record is a good start, and with how muddied the NFC is right now, Detroit being thought of among the best isn't some crazy idea.
There aren't many teams better than them at the moment, and with the Lions at least sporting a violent pass rush, they could be getting close to putting things together on defense. After missing the playoffs last year following a 7-4 start, I can only imagine how great the motivation is to get back to the playoffs this year.
