24. Indianapolis Colts

Last week: 21st

There was some optimism going into the 2026 season that the Indianapolis Colts -- bringing most of the band back together offensively -- could recapture some of the magic we saw last season before Daniel Jones was injured.

Well, it's going to have to wait at least another week. There was absolutely no magic working for the Colts in a blowout loss against the Baltimore Ravens.

Daniel Jones looked rusty coming back. Jonathan Taylor was his usual inevitable self, but even he lost a fumble in this game.

Still, it's hard to look at anything but the Colts' defense, which gave up over 500 yards on the day, including over 300 through the air and 200 on the ground. It was an absolute drubbing, so the Colts will be back to the drawing board in Week 2, a road game against the Chiefs.

23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Last week: 17th

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers relented, gave Baker Mayfield a massive contract extension after his self-imposed deadline, and even after just one game this season, they might be having some buyer's remorse.

Mayfield fumbled the ball three times in the Bucs' Week 1 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals, and he lost all three of them.

The first fumble was picked up and returned for a touchdown by the Bengals. The next two fumbles (three on consecutive possessions) all led to touchdowns by the Bengals, who got out to a quick 21-3 lead, and it proved to be insurmountable.

It's just hard to look at this Bucs team and not see the team that crumbled late last season. Dropping them 6 spots might feel harsh, but there was some real competition for real estate in these Power Rankings after Week 1.
