14. Miami Dolphins (0-1)
The Miami Dolphins losing by two scores to the Las Vegas Raiders is an accurate representation of how this team is going to play this year. If nothing else, though, the Dolphins are clearly embracing a full-scale rebuild, which is a good thing.
There are no shortcuts in rebuilding in the NFL, and the Dolphins did begin that process this offseason with a new front office coaching staff, and parting with a ton of key veterans. This is going to be a heavy lift no matter what, but starting with the bare-bone studs is smart.
The Dolphins could struggle to win four games this year, but that also does mean they'll likely pick very high in the 2027 NFL Draft, perhaps landing a future franchise QB.
13. Las Vegas Raiders (1-0)
The Raiders are off to a 1-0 start in the Klint Kubiak era, but they should have beaten the Dolphins. Las Vegas is bad, but they're less bad than Miami. With the Raiders sharing a division with three teams capable of winning double-digit games, it's not going to be pretty this year, but with Fernando Mendoza in the building, they could have one major thing checked off the list.
Only time will tell us if Mendoza is for real, but if the Raiders don't bottom out this year, Kirk Cousins could keep the starting job for much of the season. Roster-wise, the wide receiver room might be the worst in the league, and I am not sure the secondary is in a good spot right now, either.
The Raiders would be wise to be patient with the Mendoza development, so this team could realistically put themselves on the radar as early as 2027. For now, though, Las Vegas should continue being a lower-ranked team, but do still have some optimism for the long-term.
