12. Indianapolis Colts (0-1)
The Indianapolis Colts are going to struggle to sniff five wins this year if that's the type of team Week 1 showed. The Colts struggled to contain the Baltimore Ravens and didn't see a ton go right on the offensive side of the ball.
While Indy can still be a competent team this year, there are some deep personnel issues that ultimately go back to the failed tenure of Chris Ballard, the team's General Manager. While there are some lesser-important positions that need work, Ballard has not been able to figure out any sort of long-term QB solution ever since Andrew Luck retired.
Yes, it's been that long, and the QB room has no long-term clarity. We can talk about how iffy the defense appears to be and perhaps even the coaching moves this team has made, but when teams take the field, the QB position is the one that typically has the biggest influence on a game.
Until the Colts take a legitimate approach to the QB room, they'll continue to be one of the more irrelevantly average teams in football. After their Week 1 loss, they drop outside the top-10, coming in at No. 12.
11. New York Jets (1-0)
The New York Jets are No. 11 in our power rankings. Where the Jets cold have some friskiness about them is with the playmaking talent they have on offense, and even the offensive line is young and encouraging. With that said, the Jets do have a below-average QB in Geno Smith and also might not have long-term stability with Aaron Glenn, their head coach.
And with a trio of first-round picks in the 2027 NFL Draft, the Jets are likely taking a major swing on a QB next April. This team feels good about how Week 1 went, but we could still see some significant change coming to the franchise within the next calendar year.
