6. Philadelphia Eagles (1-0)
The Eagles looked like they were going to run away with their Week 1 game against the Commanders, and while Washington did make it close, Philadelphia won the game as they should. Philly doesn't really jump off the page anymore as a top-notch team. Not having AJ Brown in the mix is going to hurt the ceiling of the offense, as, outside of Saquon Barkley, there might not be a true alpha playmaker on this side of the ball anymore.
This team has made the playoffs each year since the 2021 season, while also having earned double-digit wins each year since 2022. Unless something wild happens, the Eagles should at least have enough roster talent to hit a 10-win season, but if teams like Dallas and New York end up being a bit more formidable in the NFC East this year, Philly might have to watch their back.
I am not sure this team is as scary as they used to be, but they're off to a good start here in 2026.
5. Detroit Lions (1-0)
Detroit nearly blew it, to be honest. Allowing 30 points in the second half and overtime to the Saints was a flat-out inexcusable performance by the defense after a shutout of a first half. The Lions defense has unfortunately been the team's biggest issue the past two seasons, and unless that can magically disappear this year, Detroit will continue to deal with a defensive mess.
Last year, it completely derailed the season, as they were off to a solid 7-4 start before finishing just 9-8. The Lions might be a team seeking to make some sort of trade for a boost in the secondary or along the defensive line before the trade deadline approaches.
But even in their current state, the Lions are one of the more solid teams in football.
