12. Los Angeles Chargers (0-2)
There has not been a more disappointing team in the AFC than the Los Angeles Chargers so far this season.
Per usual, the Chargers were a preseason favorite of many. How good could Justin Herbert be with Mike McDaniel calling plays for him?
The dream scenarios have quickly turned into nightmares. Not only are the Chargers 0-2 after facing the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders to start the season, but they are banged up and have to go to Buffalo to take on the Bills in Week 3 with Buffalo coming off of extended rest after having played on Thursday night in Week 2.
11. Indianapolis Colts (0-2)
Although the Colts are 0-2, they played a pretty solid game offensively against the Kansas City Chiefs in less-than-ideal conditions on Sunday night.
The Chiefs are riding some major momentum early this season with Patrick Mahomes back, Kenneth Walker joining the team, and the home crowd going absolutely bonkers seeing their team bounce back after a rough 2025 season.
The fact that the Colts were able to get that game to overtime on Sunday speaks volumes about this team's resolve. Jonathan Taylor is a stud, and I think it's a matter of time before this Colts team starts to catch a little something.
Getting a win against Houston in Week 3 would be massive.
10. New York Jets (1-1)
This might be the highest we've had the New York Jets on any Power Rankings list since the hype at the start of the Aaron Rodgers era.
Even though they blew it in overtime against the Green Bay Packers, I still like the way this Jets team has played football in each of the first two weeks of the season. They got a win in Week 1 against the Titans, and came a couple of stops away from potentially being 2-0 to start the season.
They have a brutal matchup in Week 3 going on the road to face off against the Detroit Lions, but Aaron Glenn knows that operation really well. We'll get to see what this Jets team is really made of.
9. New England Patriots (1-1)
One thing that can't be discounted with the New England Patriots so far this season: That defense is balling out.
The Patriots have only allowed 16 points through the first two weeks of the season. They currently rank #1 in 3rd down defense and #1 in red zone defense. So why are they so low on this list?
The offense has been pathetic, and Drake Maye has shown signs of regression. And it's not just this year that we're seeing it. Maye's struggles go all the way back to the 2025-26 postseason. He looks rattled out there, and he's not playing with confidence.
Going on the road to face off against a Jaguars team coming off of a loss is not exactly the get-right game this Pats team needs right now.
