8. Philadelphia Eagles (2-0)
The Philadelphia Eagles are the lowest-ranked 2-0 team of all-time (probably).
The Eagles have struggled to two wins against the 0-2 Washington Commanders and the now 0-2 Tennessee Titans. But the way both the Commanders and Titans have played in the games they had other than their matchups against the Eagles speaks volumes.
It looks like the Eagles are once again struggling with playing down to their competition this season. That doesn't mean they don't deserve any credit for finding ways to win those first two games. Jalen Hurts took over in the 4th quarter against the Titans on a game-winning drive.
It just feels like this team is dancing too close to the edge of the proverbial cliff. They managed to beat the Commanders in Week 1 with just 10 first downs. They had to come back late in the 4th to beat the Titans. Going on the road against the Bears in Week 3 will be a big test.
7. Dallas Cowboys (1-1)
The Cowboys' defense couldn't do anything to stop Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants in Week 1, but the Washington Commanders couldn't do anything to stop Dak Prescott in Week 2.
Last season, the Cowboys fooled us all with the way they were able to play offensively at home. This year, we're going to have to approach them with a bit more cautious optimism.
Still, when Dak Prescott plays like he did against Washington, you can't help but want to rev up the MVP engines and start believing that the Cowboys are going to actually start to do something. The problem is that the Dallas defense still allowed 24 first downs to the Commanders, and gave up 8-of-14 3rd-down opportunities defensively.
This defense shouldn't have been expected to be a finished product at the beginning of the season, but you undoubtedly expected them to hit the ground running a bit more than we've seen. They're going to get a major test in Week 3 with the Ravens coming to town.
