26. New England Patriots

If it gives you any sort of indication of just how bad Sunday’s game was for the New England Patriots, we wrote this blurb with over 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter of the game.
The football we are seeing played by Patriots quarterback Drake Maye this season – and dating back to the start of last year’s playoffs – is some of the worst in the entire league. He not only leads the NFL in interceptions already this season, but he just doesn’t look like he’s playing with any level of rhythm or confidence this season.
Heading into Sunday’s game, the Patriots’ defense had been playing like one of the best in the NFL despite Maye’s ineptitude. The Jaguars made the Patriots pay for Drake Maye’s mistakes and absolutely destroyed them.
The Patriots are now 1-2 this season, so they’re not out of it or anything, but the more pressing issue at hand is the play of Drake Maye. Another three turnovers against the Jaguars, some brutal plays, are more confirmation that this team might be taking a step back as a whole this season.
25. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers once again just don’t look like a serious operation as a team.
Justin Herbert has gotten a lot of excuses made for him throughout the course of his NFL career, but there are some instances where you can’t do anything but shake your head. Quentin Johnston with a key dropped pass late. The offensive line with too many untimely penalties or lapses in pass protection.
And of course, Herbert himself making terrible decisions with the ball at times.
They drew a really rough matchup in Week 3, playing on the road against Josh Allen and the Bills. And while many in the NFL world expected that game to be one of the best of the week, it was really sloppy and hard to watch.
Now 0-3 to start the season, the Chargers have dug themselves a hole that is going to be borderline impossible to get out of, especially with the Chiefs starting the season 3-0 and the AFC looking loaded overall.
The fallout of another failed season – if that’s what it ends up being – would be fascinating.
