4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 0-3
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might soon be approaching a time where some major change takes place. Quarterback Baker Mayfield could miss some time with a dislocated thumb, and the team has now dropped their first two home games of the season, losing to QBs in Deshaun Watson and Kyler Murray.
The Bucs just don't have anything going for them right now - the coaching staff appears to have overstayed their welcome, and now, with Mayfield hurt, the Bucs might not have a first win in sight. It's' tough to see how the Bucs can rebound despite being in the dysfunctional NFC South.
Head coach Todd Bowles is trending in the wrong direction, as the Bucs have been among the worst teams in the NFL since about the midway point of 2025.
3. Houston Texans, 0-3
For the second season in a row, the Houston Texans are 0-3. In 2025, though, Houston finished 12-5 and made the playoffs. This year feels a bit different, as the defense hasn't been great, and both the offensive line and run game feel shaky despite significant offseason change in both areas personnel-wise.
General Manager Nick Caserio clearly didn't make the right moves in either room, as Houston's offense isn't a threat, and the defense is somehow regressing. It's shaping up to be a massively underwhelming season for the Texans if things don't change fast.
2. Los Angeles Chargers, 0-3
The 0-3 Los Angeles Chargers look poorly coached and are playing sloppy, uninspired football through two weeks. Justin Herbert looks dreadful, and both sides of the ball just can't find any sort of groove.
Despite going 11-6 in each of his first two seasons as head coach, Jim Harbaugh's Chargers now feel and play like a five-win team at the moment. With a massive gauntlet schedule still in front of them, I am not sure the Bolts have an obvious first win in sight, either.
1. New England Patriots, 1-2
The New England Patriots just look dreadful. The team went 14-3 last year, and Drake Maye finished second in the NFL MVP voting. Maye now feels like one of the worst starters in the sport. Last year, Maye threw just eight interceptions. He has six through three weeks, and the Patriots feel like a team primed to miss the playoffs.
Nothing is working for this team. Seven months after playing in the Super Bowl, the Pats feel like they need a total reset. As of now, they top our rankings as the most disappointing team in the league thus far.
