4. Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos just made a dramatic change offensively heading into Week 5 with Sean Payton taking over play-calling from recently appointed OC Davis Webb.
Webb had taken over play-calling duties this season as the Broncos attempted to keep him from other interested teams, but Payton has seen enough through four games. The Broncos’ offensive ineptitude may have had a little something to do with their opponents (Chiefs, Jaguars, Rams, 49ers), but Payton isn’t taking any chances.
He needs quarterback Bo Nix to get back on track, the running game to get back on track, and this team to get back into the thick of the AFC West, where the Chiefs already have a two-game lead (and a head-to-head win).
3. Buffalo Bills
After the way the Bills started the 2026 season, it looked like they were on an absolute warpath, destroying anything and everything that got in their way.
The last two weeks, they have looked human.
The Bills got beat by the Patriots on Sunday in their own stadium, and they somehow found a way to win the prior week against the Chargers despite an absurd 5 giveaways offensively.
The downfield passing game has still been something of an issue for the Bills as DJ Moore has been dealing with nagging injuries.
Josh Allen is still playing ridiculous football this season, racking up 13 total touchdowns in the first four games. It feels like no matter what, the Bills’ entire season is going to come down to whether or not Allen comes through in a big game. No matter what they do to the roster or coaching staff, it’s going to be up to him.
