12. New Orleans Saints
Even at 1-3, I’m still buying stock in the New Orleans Saints this season.
I’m staying on that side.
Even if I’m going down with the ship, I have to acknowledge that the results for the Saints have not been good enough so far this season. Obviously, they’ve gotten into a really bad habit of digging themselves holes they simply can’t get out of, aside from one really impressive one in Baltimore.
But this is a team with a ton of talent, and a rather wide-open division (even though the Falcons did their best to make it look as not wide open as possible).
Losing starting running back Travis Etienne hurts, even if it’s not for an extended period of time. They have games coming up against the Vikings, Giants, and Steelers to try and get back on track before their bye week on November 1.
11. New York Giants
The New York Giants have been resilient so far this season. Just as a fan of football, it was incredibly disappointing to see Jaxson Dart go down in the first quarter against the Los Angeles Rams back in Week 2. You can only imagine how devastating that sight was for Giants fans, and the brutal reporting afterward of optimism followed by a season-ending diagnosis.
The Giants beat the Cowboys when they had Dart, but their last two wins have come against the Titans and Cardinals. Not exactly the best teams in the league, but John Harbaugh has his guys at 3-1, and that’s what matters the most.
We’ll find out a lot about this team with a Week 8 bye coming up as they face the Commanders on the road in Week 5, followed by the Saints and Texans.
