8. Atlanta Falcons
The turnaround for the Atlanta Falcons over the past two games cannot be overstated.
I thought this team was absolutely down for the count, because the quarterback situation was atrocious, the team’s best pass rushers were out, and it just generally looked like a disastrous situation.
It just goes to show how big of a lie the first couple of weeks of the NFL season can be, and just how critical it is to have even competent play at the quarterback position. The insertion of Michael Penix Jr. into the lineup has completely caused the rest of the offense to erupt. Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson have both dominated the past two games as the Falcons have put up 80 points on offense.
This team has very quickly brought itself back into the conversation for the AFC South division title instead of competing just for the #1 overall pick.
7. Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers have one of the most explosive offenses in the entire NFL, and few quarterbacks are slinging the rock around the yard like Bryce Young.
What a time…
Even if it feels like we’re living in some alternate version of reality, the Carolina Panthers are one of the most dangerous offenses in the entire NFL. Bryce Young has fantastic weapons, Dave Canales knows how to utilize everyone within his offense, and even though they have been on both ends of the extreme each week, the Panthers have to be looked at as one of the most dangerous teams in the NFC right now. They’re 4th in the league in scoring, 1st in passing, and even with the defense struggling in a couple of games so far, they can win a shootout with anyone.
