12. Cincinnati Bengals
Last week: 13th
Winning the turnover battle on the road proved to be absolutely crucial for the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5.
After what appeared to be a complete blowout loss early in the game, the Bengals somehow let the Dolphins come creeping back into the frame.
Regardless, a win is a win, and the Bengals are now 3-2, keeping pace with the rest of the AFC North right now. Joe Burrow had himself 4 touchdown passes against the Dolphins to 4 different receivers.
And there was still some meat left on the bone.
The Bengals were just 3-for-5 in red zone trips, so there are aspects of the overall operation that need to be cleaned up. They also had a giveaway wiped off the board because the Dolphins recovered a fumble slightly out of bounds.
We’re still in the process of determining exactly what this Bengals team is in 2026.
11. Chicago Bears
Last week: 5th
The Chicago Bears got absolutely taken to the cleaners against the Green Bay Packers, but it happens.
They’ve had to use three quarterbacks already this season, and even with that in mind, we’ve seen Ben Johnson’s offense absolutely steamroll opposing teams. I’m not going to hold the loss to the Packers against the Bears too much this week, and part of the reason for that is that I’ve had a high view of the Packers that finally came to fruition in Week 5.
A loss like that happens, but how will the Bears respond?
Late in the week, we saw that Caleb Williams was upgraded to a limited participant in practice, and was questionable for the game. Whether or not that means he’s going to be returning in Week 6 remains to be seen, but there is at least some optimism.
And we only have one real game of a sample this year with Williams at the helm of this Bears offense, which came back in Week 1. And they put up 59 points. Even after a blowout loss, there’s reason for optimism with this Bears team.
