6. Los Angeles Rams

Last week: 7th

Rams play on Monday night against the Bills. Their ranking will be updated accordingly.***

Part of the difficulty with evaluating this Los Angeles Rams team is that we haven’t really gotten the chance to see it in full this season.

The one chance we had was back in Week 1 when they were a complete mess against the San Francisco 49ers after botching their travel plans.

At some point, you figure we’re going to see all of the stars on the field for this Rams team, but that’s not exactly why they’re this high on our Power Rankings. The Rams are just a really good, really well-coached team.

They are coming off of a come-from-behind win in Philadelphia last week, and now they’re playing at home against the Buffalo Bills. That’ll be a huge matchup for the Rams for the same reasons it’s a big one for the Bills. It’s a great litmus test for both teams, a possible Super Bowl preview, and a matchup of two of the league’s best.

5. Seattle Seahawks

Last week: 4th

There is no question that the Seattle Seahawks have one of the best defenses in the NFL, but you can’t always overcome when the offense is giving the ball away as much as the Seahawks have the past couple of seasons.

Even in their Super Bowl season last year, the Seahawks had more giveaways offensively than most teams.

That bit them in a big way in their epic matchup against the 49ers. And that is something the Seattle defense has been able to overcome in the past. They were almost able to overcome it against the 49ers, but they came up just short.

Not only did the Seahawks have four giveaways in this game against the 49ers, but some crucial offensive miscues on what could have been the game-tying or go-ahead drive. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had a rare drop in a big moment, and Cooper Kupp was tackled just short of a first down on a 4th-down play that ended the game.
