6. Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are a fun football team this year. The Browns sit in first place in the NFC North and are notably seeing Deshaun Watson playing reasonably well. This team isn't making silly mistakes and know how to close out games as well.
It's quite obvious that first year head coach Todd Monken simply knows what he's doing here. While the Browns might not be a great team, we're nearing November, and they're relevant, which says a lot. They also boat a good bit of young talent that could help them remain on the map beyond 2026.
5. Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens are 4-2 and should get quarterback Lamar Jackson soon. We are still seeing the Ravens falter in late-game situations, which was a major 'thing' in John Harbaugh's tenure, and if that remains the case with Jesse Minter at the helm, the same Ravens we have seen for years prior will remain.
This is still a very good team that checks most, if not all the boxes you want in a Super Bowl contender, but their years of playoff disappointments do have us fairly wondering if, when January rolls around, they can make a run, as that just hasn't been in the cards.
4. New England Patriots
Drake Maye is heading up, and the New England Patriots are coming.
If Maye can continue playing as well as he has the past three games, those 2025 concerns of the Patriots being 'schedule merchants' will disappear. This team did just make the Super Bowl last year and definitely need to be thought of as a contender.
Maye still has some shaky performances this year and did play extremely poorly to begin the season, but there is also a distinct chance that the third-year QB was simply in a slump. New England comes in at No. 4 in our power rankings.
