3. Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills are 5-1 on the season after another shootout win, this time coming against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6. The Bills defense has been flat-out bad this year, so that has to be a notable concern. While the Bills do have the offensive ceiling to win in shootout fashion, I am not sure that is sustainable the rest of the season and into the playoffs, especially as the weather gets colder.
Buffalo does have, arguably, the best player in the sport in Josh Allen, but even Allen puts up 'stinker' performances from time to time, especially when he tries to play hero ball. With the Bills being 5-1, though, they have been able to sustain this way of winning thus far, and as of now, they are a contender.
2. Kansas City Chiefs
Kenneth Walker III has been outstanding for the Kansas City Chiefs and is on pace to have an all-time season at the position. The Chiefs come in at No. 2 in our Super Bowl contender rankings, as it's not clear if Walker can sustain this heavy workload throughout an entire season, as he has never been a workhorse running back.
Additionally, the other talent on offense isn't exceptional, and while the defense has been good this year, that side of the ball isn't necessarily oozing with talent. The Chiefs still do have Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, and those two have consistently been able to prove us wrong over the years, so we're not going to make the mistake of doubting the Chiefs right now.
1. San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers are an utterly dominant football team right now. Both sides of the ball are working at the moment, and what is even crazier is that the 49ers are doing this with a ton of injured players, which feels like is always the case.
However, the Niners are 5-0 approaching Monday Night Football and probably wake up on Tuesday at 6-0. Brock Purdy is playing like an MVP, and Raheem Morris has his defense playing fast and physical. Like the other top teams on this list, it's easy to see this team winning it all, but the 49ers are absolutely the most complete in the league. What can't this team do...?
