10. Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons have the potential to be one of the most dangerous offenses in the NFL, but the last two weeks have been really tough pills to swallow.
It looked like the Falcons were going to potentially be able to win 3 straight games after beating both the Packers and Saints in back-to-back games, scoring 80 points in the process. They had a matchup against the Tyler Huntley-led Ravens, and couldn’t find a way to close the game.
Tua Tagovailoa came in during overtime and immediately threw an interception to Kyle Hamilton.
After a season-low 13 first downs (along with 3 giveaways) against the Bears last week, the Falcons need to bounce back quickly. Unfortunately, they have to do it against the San Francisco 49ers.
9. New York Giants
The New York Giants are 3-2-1 so far this season, which definitely counts for something, but the arrow is pointing down at this point.
We’re all going to be fascinated to find out how JJ McCarthy does with an extended look in place of the injured Jaxson Dart, especially after the 4th quarter he put together against the Saints.
Even with that, this Giants team is just not passing the old eye test. Their first win of the season came with Dart as quarterback against the Giants. They have beaten the Cardinals and Titans, and they were a pick-six by Jacoby Brissett away from losing to Arizona a couple weeks ago.
Again the 3-2-1 record counts for something, but this team is hanging on by a thread right now.
8. Los Angeles Rams
It’s been a brutal year for the Los Angeles Rams, to say the least.
The flight plan to Australia before Week 1 almost feels like a distant memory compared to all that has transpired within the first six weeks of the season.
The Rams are dealing with a ton of injuries right now. They are 2-4 and playing in one of the best divisions in football. This feels like an absolute worst-case, rock-bottom type of scenario that not even the Rams’ biggest critics could have imagined going into this season.
For them, it’s going to be all about getting back into the mix one step at a time. Their next four games before the bye are against the Raiders, Chargers, Commanders, and Cardinals. It’s not out of the question to think we could all blink and this Rams team will be 6-4 going into Thanksgiving.
