24. New Orleans Saints

Last week: 21st

You couldn’t hear it, but I let out a deep sigh just before writing the blurb for the New Orleans Saints. The Saints went marching into Paris (yeah, I went there) and only put up 10 points against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I mean, come on.

This is the same Saints team that has been one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL at times this season? Honestly, you deserve to lose a game in which you only run for 18 yards.

Yes, you read that right: 18 rushing yards in a game…

That’s not going to cut it, and it puts way too much pressure on Tyler Shough and the passing attack. The pressure boiled over as Shough threw a red zone interception in the 3rd quarter, and that Saints offense simply couldn’t do anything after that.

They’re now 2-5 this season and losing their grip on any chance of competing in the NFC South.

23. Arizona Cardinals

Last week: 19th

Beating the two Los Angeles teams definitely counts for something, but the Arizona Cardinals kind of are what we thought they were.

The Cardinals got absolutely smoked at home this weekend against the Denver Broncos, and it was more of the same for their defense. They gave up a ton of big plays through the air, which has been a huge problem for them. They ranked 32nd in the NFL coming into this week in net passing yards per attempt allowed defensively.

The Broncos gashed them through the air and on the ground en route to a rather easy win.

The Cardinals have one of the NFL’s truly elite weapons in Trey McBride. That much is obvious. But without seeing Jeremiyah Love out there on the field as well, we’re missing a key piece of the equation for this team’s future.
