7. Miami Dolphins single-season rushing touchdowns by a quarterback record
Malik Willis has been impressive this year with a lackluster team around him. Perhaps the most impressive part of the offense for the Miami Dolphins this year has been the rushing attack. While we are still pretty far off from any running back records being broken, Willis is nearing a record.
The Miami Dolphins single-season rushing touchdowns by a quarterback record, to be exact. As things stand right now, there is a cluster of signal-callers with four rushing touchdowns in a season for the team, most notably Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jay Fiedler. Sitting at three, Willis needs a pair of touchdown runs to set the record for himself, and could accomplish that against the Detroit Lions this Sunday.
6. Atlanta Falcons receiving yards by a running back record
As mentioned before, Bijan Robinson was shut out of the passing attack last weekend, meaning he is still close to setting the receiving yards by a running back record for the Atlanta Falcons franchise. Currently, Devonta Freeman holds that distinction with 2,015 receiving yards in his Falcons career. Robinson is a mere 75 receiving yards from taking that spot in the Atlanta record books for the running back position.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars rookie receiving touchdowns record by a tight end
There is a big elephant in the room with Nate Boerkircher appearing on the power rankings again, and it is time to address it. Yes, the rookie tight end recorded his second receiving touchdown of the season on Sunday. However, that put him into a tie with Pete Mitchell and Zach Miller.
The rookie tight end can hold the record to himself with one more touchdown reception at any point this season. Seeing as that is the case, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ rookie tight end reception record is still at play, despite Boerkircher putting his name in the record book last weekend. As such, the record will continue to appear until that may happen.
4. Los Angeles Chargers rushing touchdowns by a quarterback record
One of our favorite pastimes is back, again. Justin Herbert is tied for the Los Angeles Chargers all-time rushing touchdowns record at the quarterback position with John Hadl and Jack Kemp with 15 such scores. With one rushing touchdown against the struggling Houston Texans defense, Herbert will break that tie and hold the record all to himself.
